The Readers' Choice Awards are in their 24th year. The Oklahoman asks its readers and viewers through The Oklahoman and NewsOK.com to tell who the best in OKC is in over 200 categories. It is a 2 step process of a write-in ballot voting period and a Top 5 voting period. This year there were over 800,000 votes in the  Top 5 period of picking the eventual winners.

 CARECHEX   has recognized McBride Orthopedic Hospital as  a   2018  Top 10% Hospital in the Nation for Patient Satisfaction in  Overall Hospital Care.  The CareChex  Patient Satisfaction  award  type is based on responses to the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) patient satisfaction survey. The survey includes the following eight (8) categories: overall hospital rating (scale of 1 to 10), doctor communication, nurse communication, staff responsiveness, medical explanation, pain control, hospital environment (quietness and cleanliness), and post-discharge instructions.

U.S. News & World Report High Performing Hospital for 2017-18

McBride Orthopedic Hospital has been recognized as a High Performing Hospital  for 2017-18 in Knee Replacement and Hip Replacement by U.S. News & World Report.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 28th year, are part of U.S. News' patient portal, designed to help patients make informed decisions about where to receive care for life-threatening conditions or for common elective procedures.

The U.S. News methodologies include risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety, quality of nursing care and other care-related indicators. 

Cigna Centers of Excellence Designations

McBride Orthopedic Hospital has received Cigna Centers of Excellence (COE) designations for the following:

  • Joint Replacement (Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement)
  • Orthopedic Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion)

COE designations are based on Cigna's evaluation of a hospital's quality and affordability for 18 inpatient conditions and procedures. Hospitals can earn up to three stars for quality and three stars for affordability. If the hospital earns a total of five or six stars for one of the 18 conditions and procedures, it is designated as a Cigna Center of Excellence.

The Cigna Centers of Excellence program is designed to meet growing consumer demand for valuable information about quality and cost that can help individuals make informed choices about where to seek care. Quality scores are based on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare measures, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score, primary C-section delivery rate, mortality and complication rates, and other evidence-based measures.
